Accounts Clerk

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Preparation of statements for the Financial Services Commission.
  • Assist with the [external] audit.
  • Accounts receivables and Accounts payables
  • Responsibility for bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of payroll deductions and data entry (PAYE and NIS).
  • Responsibility for the preparation of staff payroll.
  • Responsibility for the printing of cheques.
  • Assist members with queries relating to loan applications, withdrawals and other disbursements, receipts, membership applications and KYC information.
  • Supervise operations in the absence of the General Manager in his/her absence.
  • Assist with other administrative duties.
  • Assist with the preparation for the annual general meeting.
  • Identify when payments are missed to facilitate early actions against defaulters
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Board or General Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting/Business related field 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and or QuickBooks.
  • Strong accounting knowledge with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to self-manage time and quality of work.
  • Team player with strong inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and be able to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage moderate stress.
